Another month down and here we are already in February- crazy because it was just Christmas right?? Anyway, I can finally share my most loved beauty products from last month so here we go!
Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser: Typically I love foaming cleansers, something about the bubbles that make me *feel* cleaner but to my surprise this one was non-foaming. Like the title suggest, it is a thick, milky consistency and the scent is fresh yet mild. I use this with my Clarisonic too for when I need to exfoliate.
Glossier Priming Moisturizer Rich: Hands down this is the best moisturizer I've ever used. I don't mind a lightweight moisturizer but thicker formulas are what I prefer and this product truly delivered. It's a non-greasy formula with shea and murumuru (I had to look it up too lol) butters that melt on the skin for the best dewy glow.
Lush Santa Baby Lip Scrub: This lip scrub (seasonal scent/flavor btw) is cherry cola flavored and edible! It's actually tinted to make your lips rosy and I didn't realize this until I looked at my red-stained finger after applying it earlier. Although I've used this frequently and it is a favorite, I probably won't be buying this again. I just know I could DIY a sugar scrub that is just as effective. :)
MAC Cosmetics Prep+Prime Essential Oil: I saw this in Nordstrom, tested it out and instantly bought it. The sweet orange-lavender scent is sooo good, I look forward to putting it on my skin every morning. Apparently, you can mix it in with your foundation for elevated hydration but I don't wear foundations or concealers, so I use it after my moisturizer...two drops goes a long way.
Gourmand Pistachio Brûlée Hand Cream: So this scent has been out as a perfume at urban outfitters for a while now and I'd spray it on me every time I popped in the store. When I saw they finally came out with a hand creme I decided to give it a try, the packaging kind of sold me too. This scent has notes of milk vanilla mousse, pistachio, and vanilla bean and it's the perfect size to keep in my purse every day---I have have HAVE to have lotion in my bag at all times!
Glossier Topaz Haloscope: A must have highlighting stick! Before using this I was using a bronzer that I'd apply with an angled blush brush but now this on-the-go stick saves me time in my routine. The core is made up of vitamin-rich moisturizers and it builds perfectly on top of the MAC prep+prime oil I mentioned above. The topaz color is perfect for my ladies of color and for my fair skinned ladies, this color would be a great way to build a fresh 'out of the sun' glow. Also, every time I've tried highlighting my cupid's bow, It looks overdone and messy- but with haloscope, it works! I apply it there as well as from my brow bone to my cheek bone (in a half halo shape hence the name).
On to my next trendy beauty purchases- the popular lip and under-eye masks! I found these two on AliExpress and they were dirt cheap so I thought it would be a fun thing to try. I've been seeing gals on the internet using these and they love them so I wanted to see what the hype was all about. Now my only disclaimer is that these two brands are pretty much the knockoffs of the real deal so my results weren't *that* different to be totally honest, however, laying around with cool jelly shapes on my face for 10-15 minutes was pretty fun and relaxing.
